Fire Engineer Roles

The Fire Engineer role involves leading small projects and assisting on larger projects alongside Senior Engineers and the management team. You will be responsible for developing fire engineered designs and liaising with clients to ensure that our strategies are suitably prepared and presented. In the course of the role you will expand your knowledge of people and project management as well as developing your commercial awareness including developing your ability to plan strategically with time, cost, and quality in mind, and how to deliver this message successfully to a range of clients.


In the Fire Engineering role you will:


Client Focused

  • Attend Design Team Meetings with clients, both in-person and online. 
  • Participate in Business Development including preparation of fee proposals.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from conception through to on-site completion.


Commitment to Quality

  • Use verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills to effectively communicate complex design solutions.
  • Set up and manage projects from scratch, i.e. project/email folders, resource sheet, filing without supervision.
  • Provide support to Graduates within the team, including technical training and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for delivering technical advice in a timely manner to our clients to help them achieve their project goals.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.


Passionate about Innovation

  • Be responsible for defining your career aspirations and areas of specialist interest.
  • Be proactive in company improvement initiatives. 
  • Maintain a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure industry knowledge, expertise and best practice are recorded as training activities.
  • Contribute to the Delta Fire Engineering Research Programme, including undertaking research and collaborating with internal and external partners on new and existing research themes.


Requirements 

  • A degree in an Engineering subject (BSc, BEng or similar), preferably in Fire Engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in Fire Engineering (Applicants with different backgrounds also considered).
  • A minimum of one year post-graduate work experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.
  • A like-minded approach to the Delta Fire Engineering values and ethos.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good numeric and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • To be driven, ambitious and enjoy variety.

Senior Fire Engineer Roles

The Senior Fire Engineer role involves leading medium-sized projects and assisting on larger projects alongside the management team. You will be responsible for developing fire engineered designs and liaising with clients to ensure that our strategies are suitably prepared and presented. In the course of the role you will expand your knowledge of people and project management as well as developing your commercial awareness including developing your ability to plan strategically with time, cost, and quality in mind, and how to deliver this message successfully to a range of clients.


In the Senior Fire Engineer role you will:


Client Focused

  • Attend Design Team Meetings with clients, both in-person and online. 
  • Participate in Business Development including preparation of fee proposals.
  • Maintain a client portfolio including expectations for winning work and maintaining client relationships.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from conception through to on-site completion.


Commitment to Quality

  • Use verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills to effectively communicate complex design solutions.
  • Set up and manage projects from scratch, i.e. project/email folders, resource sheet, filing without supervision.
  • Provide support to Graduates and Fire Engineers within the team, including technical training and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for delivering technical advice in a timely manner to our clients to help them achieve their project goals.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations including development of new templates and processes.
  • Review others reports prior to issue in line with our internal Quality Assurance Policy.

  • Maintain a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure industry knowledge, expertise and best practice are recorded as training activities.

  • Maintain a CPD log and work towards professional accreditation with the Engineering Council.


Requirements 

  • A degree in an Engineering subject (BSc, BEng or similar), preferably in Fire Engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in Fire Engineering (Applicants with different backgrounds also considered).
  • A minimum of four years post-graduate work experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.
  • A like-minded approach to the Delta Fire Engineering values and ethos.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work with the technical team the Senior Leadership Team.
  • To be driven, ambitious and enjoy variety.

Associate Fire Engineer Roles

The Associate Fire Engineer role involves leading on larger projects alongside the Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for developing fire engineered designs and liaising with clients to ensure that our strategies are suitably prepared and presented. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management, and longer-term development of, a regional team of Graduation, Fire Engineers and Senior Fire Engineers.


In the Associate Fire Engineer role you will:


Client Focused

  • Attend Design Team Meetings with client, both in-person and online. 
  • Participate in Business Development including preparation of fee proposals.
  • Maintain and actively build a client portfolio including expectations for winning work and maintaining client relationships.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously from conception through to on-site completion.


Commitment to Quality

  • Use verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills to effectively communicate complex design solutions.
  • Set up and manage projects from scratch, i.e. project/email folders, resource sheet, filing without supervision.
  • Provide support to Senior Fire Engineers, Fire Engineers and Graduates within the team, including technical training and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for delivering technical advice in a timely manner to our clients to help them achieve their project goals.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
  • Sign-off reports on behalf of the business in line with our Quality Assurance Policy and provide feedback to the team on areas of improvement.
  • Advise the Senior Leadership Team on opportunities to improve quality across the business.

  • Maintain a program of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure industry knowledge, expertise and best practice are recorded as training activities.

  • Maintain a CPD log and be working towards, or already have attained, professional accreditation with the Engineering Council.


Requirements 

  • A degree in an Engineering subject (BSc, BEng or similar), preferably in Fire Engineering or alternatively a post graduate qualification in Fire Engineering (Applicants with different backgrounds also considered).
  • A minimum of seven years post-graduate work experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.
  • A like-minded approach to the Delta Fire Engineering values and ethos.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
